What We Do:
Answering the area's needs for affordable, accessible, high-quality psychological counseling services, place4 was opened by Gulf Bend Center in the fall of 2010.

place4 offers help to children and adults, individuals, couples and families who may be experiencing emotional, social, behavioral or relationship difficulties.

At its most basic level, counseling is a cooperative process between client and therapist. Thoughts and feelings are shared in confidence with an objective, non-judgmental person who is a good listener.

Counseling is self-improvement.  People come to counseling for many different reasons — to increase self-confidence, clarify values and priorities, cope with stress, overcome depression, work on relationship issues, lessen anxiety, improve motivation or become more assertive.

We are Licensed Professional Counselors dedicated to providing the best counseling services to our clients.  This means taking the time to establish a strong therapeutic alliance between client and therapist, something that has been proven by research to significantly contribute to the success of therapy.

Place4 is under the direction of Barbara H. Bohman, MA LPC, with F. Lane Johnson, MDiv LPC, serving as consulting counselor.

Gulf Bend Regional Plaza at 6502 Nursery Drive close to the intersection of Highway 87 and Loop 463.  You’ll find us on the first floor in Suite 104 with a separate entrance from Gulf Bend Center.
