Support Gulf Bend

One in five people suffer
One in five people suffer from a debilitating disease at some point in life, but no one wants to talk about it. That disease is mental illness. One in five people will have to deal with major depression, bipolar disorder or schizophrenia. That's one in five of your neighbors, co-workers, customers and family members. They are people just like you. When mental illness strikes, it can break up marriages, split families, and even send people to emergency rooms, or worse, jail.

You can help restore them
Those suffering from mental illness can be restored to happy, productive lives with help, just like those who have other disabilities with physical causes. A leg amputee can run a marathon with proper support, and those suffering from mental illnesses can return to their lives, jobs and relationships with the proper outpatient treatment. Gulf Bend has resources to treat about 800 individuals in the seven-county region. But the need in the region is closer to 5,000 people. By coming together as a community, we can help restore so many more. CLICK HERE TO LEARN HOW YOU CAN HELP GULF BEND BETTER OUR COMMUNITY

"BUILDING A HEALTHY COMMUNITY TOGETHER" CAMPAIGN
Gulf Bend began with a vision...one place that would offer comprehensive mental health and intellectual & developmental disability services for all the people of our region. And as you know, when a Texan puts their mind to something, great things are going to happen. With that vision, the community came together to make Gulf Bend a reality, a unique organization not only in the state of Texas, but in the entire country: a non-profit, comprehensive mental health facility managed locally to meet the needs of the community it serves. Fifty-one years later, we are excited to take the next step forward as we continue to change and improve our intake and services environment to offer our customers a level of care unlike anything this community has ever seen.
